Women's Squash Camp and Playcation
The TDWSA and Unionville Athletic Club are excited to present our first ever Women's Squash Camp and Playcation. The event takes place on March 31-April 1, 2018 and is sponsored by Black Knight's Conqueror Project: a program that raises funds and awareness to help conquer breast cancer.
Enjoy a day and a half of highly focused squash training, including on‐court technical work, fitness training for injury prevention, match play and tactics, and mental strength and focus. We have put together a fantastic team of coaches and fitness professionals!A mini-vacation that builds your squash game, this unique experience includes five training sessions, an entry gift, courtside lunch, round robin match play with a best record finals, dinner at Essence of Unionville, a hotel stay and breakfast at the four-diamond Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre and Spa. The hotel and courts are all located at 8500 Warden Ave in Markham.

Strategy and TacticsPan Am Gold Medalist, 4x National Champ, Former National Women's Coach, and NCCP Level III Coach Melanie Jans will work with players on developing a good general game plan and altering the plan depending on your opponent's strengths and weaknesses. | Mental ToughnessNicole Pirko is no stranger to competition, having represented Canada at tournaments around the world. She will explain what it means for athletes to be “mentally tough” and how to get started building mental toughness. | Physical Preparation for SquashBob Bowers has worked as a physical preparation coach and therapist with many of Canada’s and the world’s best squash players since 1994. This session will help you to optimize your training based on your personal goals. Some testing will be carried out and you will learn drills guaranteed to make you faster immediately. | Solo and Team PracticeAs Squash Coach at Cornell University, former US Junior National Team and US boys U15 coach, Scott Denne has experience coaching high-performance teams. A high-performance player himself, Scott reached #101 on the PSA tour, and will help us get more out of our solo and team practice time. |
Building A Strong Core and Essential Exercises For Injury PreventionHajnal Laszlo, a former rhythmic gymnast and team handball player in her native Romania knows physical preparation well. A Registered Massage Therapist with over 20 years experience, Hajnal was an essential component of the National Squash Academy, treating and training players of all levels from 2012 until the NSA closed in Feb 2016. She will guide you through a complete warm-up, teach you the foundation of building a powerful core and take you through exercises and stretches essential for injury prevention and performance. |

Registration is OPEN
Camp registration: The event is open to 48 female players aged 19+. 12 spots are available in each of four divisions (A, B, C, D). Registration includes entry gift, access to all five training sessions held at Unionville Athletic Club, courtside lunch, round robin game play, and a chance to compete for prizes.

Hotel registration: The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre and Spa is offering a special room rate for your Saturday night stay. Your hotel booking includes overnight parking, a delicious dinner at Essence of Unionville with cash bar, and breakfast. Room availability is not guaranteed: book early in order to ensure this rate.
