When are the finals?

All divisions compete in the finals on Wed April 12th at Mayfair Lakeshore.  Start times are as follows:

  • 6:20 pm – E and D Divisions
  • 6:30 pm – C and B Divisions
  • 7:20 pm – A Division

What is the format for the finals?

We hope that everyone will come out and enjoy an evening of great squash, friendship and fun!

Registration opens at 6:00 pm. We recommend arriving early if you want to have your team photo taken.

We will be accepting material donations for Urban Squash Toronto at our finals and there will be a silent auction for the Black Knight Conqueror Project. We will also be running a 50/25/25 draw with funds raised being donated to both of these organizations.

A buffet meal and drink ticket will be provided to all players competing in the finals, volunteers, and special guests.

The awards ceremony will begin immediately after the A finals match play is complete.

Do players referee matches?

For finals there will be certified referees at A and B and experienced volunteer referees at C, D and E.  Balls are provided.

For other playoff rounds, players are responsible for scoring and reffing matches and the home team provides balls.

What teams are in the playoffs?

Division B and C have quarterfinals and the top 8 teams will compete.

Divisions A/B/C/D all have semifinals when the top 4 teams will compete.

On the SquashNut Standings Page there is a drop down menu under the “PLAYOFFS” tab for the 4 divisions that provides more information about playoffs. If you have questions, please contact your convenor.

Where/when do the matches take place?

Quarterfinals are played the week of March 28th and are on the regularly scheduled night for B and C Divisions. Teams that place 1 through 4 will host and provide game balls.

Semifinals are played on the week of Apr 4th and are on the regularly scheduled night for the division. For Divisions A and D Team 1 hosts Team 4 and Team 2 hosts Team 3. For Divisions B and C matchups will be based on the outcome of quarterfinal action.

On the SquashNut Standings Page there is a drop down menu under the “PLAYOFFS” tab for the 4 divisions that provides more information about playoffs. If you have questions, please contact your convenor.

How do I know who is qualified for the playoffs?

On the SquashNut Standings Page select the “PLAYER STATISTICS” tab.  Choose “Select Club” which has a drop down menu. Pick a club and the display will show the roster of all women who played this season for the team that was selected.  The players who are eligible for playoffs are highlighted in green.

How is player order determined?

Once you know who is qualified for playoffs (as outlined in the section above) focus on the column “Avg Position”.  This is used to show the order your qualified players must play in – NOT the position they must play.

If you have only 4 players qualified, then they must play in the ranked order from top to bottom as displayed on the Player Statistics tab.

If you have more than 4 players qualified you have a choice of which players you want for each of the playoff events.  The Average Position is what ranks the players in order on the team.

For quarter and semi finals it would be a good idea to bring the ranked list of all qualified players for both your team and your opponent’s, to make sure there is agreement amongst the captains that players are in the correct order.
